Reflection
My writing process was a little different than it
usually is. I did not have a clear idea that I wanted to write about, and at
the beginning, the topic of my paper was “The United States has a lot of work
to do to create fairness and equality throughout. However, after writing my
introduction and a paragraph or two in, I realized that I wanted to take the
paper in a different direction. I changed my topic to “Why activism is needed”
and the writing got a lot easier. After changing the angle of the introduction
and the paragraphs I already had written, I finished writing the paper, and
then went back through to add extra support. I did not learn anything new from
writing this paper, since all of my support came from articles that were
previously read, but I noticed that this topic is something I am passionate
about. I liked writing about how activism is important; all of my points were
easy to support since fighting for what you believe in was mentioned in many of
the articles we have read and I had many strong opinions about this subject in
the first place. Overall, I am pleased with how this paper turned out, even
though at the beginning it was very hard to start.
